How Does Aczone Work?

Aczone is a topical acne treatment that comes in a gel form. All you need to do to use it is rub it on  your face and let it do its job.

I was surprised to find that the makers of Aczone are unable to describe exactly how their product works. They do provide scientific evidence showing that it can be used to clear up acne, but when asked exactly how the product works they were unable to come up with an answer.

It is important for you to know that Aczone is a prescription treatment so you won’t be able to find it at the grocery store. If you decide that you are interested in Aczone you will need to talk to your doctor and find out if it is right for you.

What Ingredients Are Used to Make Aczone?

The key ingredient that makes Aczone work the way it does is 5% dapsone. Dapsone is a drug that is used to clear up other skin diseases and that is now being used to clear up acne. Although it is generally taken orally, Aczone applies it as a topical treatment.

Dapsone has been scientifically proven to clear up acne, but it also causes more negative side effects than most other active ingredients. If you use Aczone while using another acne treatment containing benzoyl peroxide, for example, your skin can turn yellow or even orange.
